Großgmain new Town Hall

Großgmain, 2020. Competition, 2nd Prize

The proposal for the new Town Hall enhances the municipality and its urban center. The sober design and its wood patina creates a dignified and timeless architecture that blends into its immediate surroundings. The orientation of the Town Hall towards the Salzburgerstrasse contributes to a new relationship between the citizen and the administration, as well between the its urban site and the landscape. The permeable wood façade opens the building up to the street, bringing the visitors inside connecting them with the adjacent park. A large central atrium runs through the building, where daylight penetrates through a large skylight illuminating the whole core of the building. The structure and floor plan ensures a high degree of flexibility with changing requirements over time.
